Tim Baresko: Grooves, Growth and Good Vibes from Brazil to Bali

Man with short hair and beard wearing black sunglasses sits against a plain gray background. Mood is calm and composed.

Tim Baresko has carved out a space of his own in the global tech house world. From early releases like “Marilyn Monroe” to recent Beatport favourites, he's always kept one thing front and centre: the groove.

We caught up with Tim ahead of his headline set at LUNA Beach Club in Bali, where he's sharing the bill with names like Richy Ahmed and Alan Fitzpatrick. But right now, home for him isn’t France. It’s Brazil.

“I’m from Lille originally, in the north of France,” he says. “But after playing a few gigs in Brazil, I just fell in love with the country, the people, the vibe, everything. I ended up staying.”

The difference in culture and energy between France and Brazil has had a big impact on Tim’s outlook. “France is more serious, but Brazil, man, it’s full of life. People live music here. There’s so much musical richness... so many styles, rhythms, and influences, it’s everywhere. That side of Brazil really spoke to me. It’s so inspiring!”

Brazil’s club and festival scene has exploded in recent years, and Tim’s been front row to that evolution. “Honestly, everything’s levelled up,” he explains. “They have one of the best venues in the world, more festivals coming, and a new wave of super talented local DJs and producers. People are more educated musically, more open to different sounds. You can feel it in the crowd. It’s cool to watch the scene growing.”

This weekend, he’s taking that energy to Bali for a set at LUNA Beach Club’s main stage. “It’s Bali, it’s a beach club, it’s paradise! I’ll bring the groove. Expect a warm and bouncy set with a lot of rhythm, some deep, some house, some tech-house, and a few unexpected gems. I want people to dance, smile, and just feel good. The setting is so special, so I’ll make the vibe to match that magic.”

Sharing a bill with heavyweights doesn’t faze him - it fires him up. “Yeah, great line-up! Proud to be on it. I’ve been following these guys for years, so sharing the stage with them is definitely a cool moment.”

Looking back, Tim sees clear growth in his sound. “Wow, ‘Marilyn Monroe’ -that takes me back! My sound has definitely grown since then. Back in the day, I was super inspired by classic house and hip-hop vibes. These days, it’s a bit different and I’m working on new stuff, still groovy, but with more atmosphere. I’m always exploring new textures, new rhythms… but the goal stays the same: make people dance.”

Outside the studio and DJ booth, Tim’s putting time into Drink Watch - a project aimed at preventing drink spiking. “Drink Watch was created a few years ago by Antoine, one of my best friends, and his dad, Francis. Francis saw so many situations of drinks being spiked and wanted to protect his daughter who was going to live in Spain. Drink Watch is a simple way to protect drinks from being spiked. A small idea, but it can make a big difference.”

With nightlife such a big part of his life, Tim knew he had to get involved. “I love nightlife, and I believe it should be a place where everyone can just enjoy themselves without worrying. As someone who’s part of this scene, I felt like I had to try to develop this idea in South America in collaboration with Antoine, Francis & Thais, our Brazilian partner. We are now launching in Brazil!”

DJ performs on stage with colorful lights and equipment, facing a large, energetic crowd at an outdoor music festival at night.

Even after playing clubs around the world, some crowds still catch him off guard - in the best way. “Chile really caught me off guard. I knew it was a hotspot, but the energy there is something else. It’s not just people partying, it feels deeper, more connected. The crowd was fully locked in from the first track to the last - music, smiles everywhere. It was one of those gigs that stays with you.”

Whether he’s spinning on a beach or deep in a warehouse, Tim’s approach is always about the moment. “Every party has its own vibe, and I love playing into that. Beach club, intimate club, or festivals - every time the vibe is different. I try to feel the space, the crowd, and build something that fits the moment. That’s part of the fun.”

He’s got plenty in the pipeline. “Yeah, there’s a lot cooking! I’ve got a few new tracks dropping soon, including a collab with an artist I’ve wanted to work with for a while. Can’t wait to share that one. I’m also working on expanding Drink Watch in South America, trying to get it into more events and festivals worldwide.”

But what’s keeping him fired up? “Just staying creative. In the studio, on stage, or building something that makes the scene better.”

Tim Baresko isn’t just shaping tracks. He’s shaping the scene. And if you’re catching him in Bali this weekend, bring your dancing shoes. He’s bringing the bounce.
