Alex Pascal, (co-founder/producer songwriter of The Layabouts) and vocalist Maddy Collins return to Richard Earnshaw and Daniel Jones's One51 Recordings as Subverse with their second single "Set Free".
Demonstrating Subverse's impressive songwriting and production versatility, the lush downtempo 'Artworx Edit' of "Set Free" features additional arrangement and engineering magic from Richard Earnshaw himself, while the 'Free Flow Vibe Mix' delivers warm dance floor flavour. Maddy's vocal performance is visceral and her lyrics raw and relatable as she celebrates emancipation and release.
Subverse is a North London duo mixing eclectic styles to bring you an array of different vibes and sounds. Just releasing their second House single ‘Figure it Out” (Inner spirit Remix) Maddy Collins on Vox and Al Pascal on guitar also play individualistic acoustic versions of tunes and have taken time to nurture their Subverse band.
After meeting through Al’s Music school the pair have bonded and are in the process of writing and producing a catalogue of tunes. The duo shoot straight from the heart and write about honest and truthful personal beliefs and experiences. From recovery to uplifting positive statements SUBVERSE are here to openly express about the real things in life. The duo are looking forward to gigging their acoustic set around the uk, performing their next single and also playing with their full SUBVERSE band!
