Shaping Sounds: Ale De Tuglie and Five Tracks That Have Influenced His New HALO Recordings Label

Ale De Tuglie

In-demand DJ and producer Ale De Tuglie is kicking off a bold new chapter with the launch of his label, HALO Recordings. Marking its debut with a release from the founder, HALO serves as a creative playground for the Bari-born artist to fully explore his sound. De Tuglie, whose meteoric rise has seen standout releases on respected labels like Whippin’, Futura, and Work Them Records, is ready to lead his imprint. Known for his electrifying sets at top Italian venues such as Cromie, Spazio Novecento, and Clorophilla, De Tuglie’s relentless passion and genre-spanning vision take centre stage with this new venture. “HALO was born as a vehicle to express my sound 100% in a personal and unfettered way,” De Tuglie explains. “It is my creation with which I can feel free to range from one genre to another, be it techno, minimal, house, electronic...”

HALO’s first offering, Not A Feeling, perfectly encapsulates this ethos. Featuring driving basslines, crisp percussion, and hooky vocals, the track is a high-impact introduction to the label’s fresh and dynamic approach. With 2024 already a banner year—performing as a resident at Music On and lighting up stages from Ibiza’s Pacha and Destino to ADE and beyond—De Tuglie is firmly in the spotlight. Upcoming gigs for Marco Carola’s Music On in Bucharest and Buenos Aires, plus appearances at Sunwaves, ANTS, and elrow, signal a career in full bloom. HALO Recordings stands as both a reflection of his journey so far and a launchpad for the next evolution of his sound.

To celebrate the launch of Halo, Ale De Tuglie shares five tracks that helped shape the sound and vision for the label:

East End Dubs – Bossy

A track that was and still is very inspiring to me because, with just a few elements but the right ones, it manages to be elegant and never make you stand still.

Chris Stussy – All Night Long

I love this track! I think Chris is unique in his sound and every track of his conveys and wants to tell something, and I particularly value that. So, I can say that he is definitely, in some details, a source of inspiration for my label. Especially this track.

Fur Coat ft. Cari Golden – You & I

This is one of my favourite tracks ever since I was younger. I like everything about this track, starting with the bass line, the vocals that fit perfectly with the bass line and everything else… I also aim to make some releases on this line in the future on the label.

Lee Foss, Detlef & Anabel Englund – Thunder and Lightning

I love this track, especially for Anabel’s voice. It gives me goosebumps! I gladly put it on this list because, in my opinion, it is a super track. Every time I listen to it, it conveys something to me, so it’s definitely an inspiration to me.

Marc Romboy vs Blake Baxter – House Ya

I have not given myself “genre rules” about what I will release on the label. I will simply express myself 100% without limits, which is one of the main reasons why I created the label. This is an energy track for me, and I aim to do something along these lines someday as well, because it is a style I also play often in my sets.
