Getting 2022 underway for Brooklyn-based imprint Short Circuit, label boss Jeff Sorkowitz teams up with long time cohort Branca to release their 'Spark It Up' EP.
The two long-time collaborators team up for the second time on Sorkowitz’s imprint as a follow up to their 2021 Short Circuit collab, Gucci County. Between them, the pair have had previous support from the likes of Dennis Cruz, wAFF, Reelow, Syreeta, Mihalis Safras, Eskuche, Jesse Maas, Janeret and more, with releases on labels such as Deeperfect, hedZup, Material Series, Fine Music, Whoyostro and more.
The b-side 'EMPR' is a tongue-in-cheek underground cut with an impressive level of impact. Rolling drums and an unmissable analogue roughness set the stage for creatively crude vocal hook and a sea of subtle harmonic influence - that peaks and troughs throughout the record.
