Paris-born DJ and producer OMAKS has become a dominant force in electronic music, known for his high-energy hard techno and acid-infused sound. Since launching his DJ career in 2019, he’s built a reputation for intense, fast-paced sets that embody his motto: “play loud, dance fast.”
His journey into production started in 2021, and tracks like Back Street Bass quickly cemented his name in the techno scene. His 2022 debut EP, 5AM, showcased his signature blend of raw power and melodic intensity, captivating techno fans worldwide.
Now, OMAKS is pushing even further with his latest EP, This Is Real, released on Teletech. He describes it as a personal milestone, reflecting his realisation that music isn’t just a passion—it’s his life. “Achieving my dream comes with responsibility and pressure, but I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he explains.
The EP delivers three powerful tracks built on his signature reverse bass, acid influences, and dynamic melodies. But OMAKS isn’t stopping there. He’s launching ENERGIC, a label and movement set to break electronic music boundaries. “No limits. No matter the style or BPM, as long as the music is pure energy and hits hard, it belongs on the label.”
OMAKS describes ENERGIC’s philosophy as a response to the stagnation he sees in hard techno. “More diversity, less copy-paste. Too many tracks sound the same when there’s still so much to explore. ENERGIC is here to break those patterns and put energy back at the centre—no matter the style. It’s time to change, and I want to be part of it!”
He’s already lined up major releases for the label, including collaborations with Vortek and AIROD, as well as a VA compilation showcasing emerging talent. Beyond music, ENERGIC will expand into event organisation, creating a space where music and high-energy experiences collide.
For OMAKS, energy isn’t just a musical theme—it’s a lifestyle. When asked to describe his sets, he simply says: “Energy, intensity, versatility. Every set I play is built to capture the moment, surprise people, and keep the tension maxed out from start to finish.”
His love for performance started when he was young. “When I planned my first event—a NYE party at 18—I knew I loved making people have a good time. Around the same time, I went to my first free party, and it all clicked.”
His influences reflect different sides of his personality: “Hard techno represents my raw, honest energy. Acid is my fun, optimistic side, always looking for the bright side. Melody is my dreamer side, always imagining something bigger than reality.”
Touring has shaped his sound and vision, and he credits the South American crowd for pushing him the hardest. “The energy there is insane. The crowd is relentless, and it pushes me to go beyond my own limits every time. I only see them once a year, so it’s always intense.”
As for production, OMAKS is embracing experimentation. “Lately, I’ve been playing with a lot of different styles instead of sticking to just one—and honestly, it feels amazing, haha.”
He already has a dream lineup in mind for an ENERGIC event, spanning hard groove, trance, hard techno, and hardcore. “Start with some hard groove, then move into something more trancey and bouncy. After that, hit harder with hard techno. Pre-closing would be all about hard rave or Tekno with a K, and to finish, a hardcore act to blow everything up.”
And while music dominates his life, there’s one thing that comes close to the rush of performing. “Honestly? Nothing comes close to the emotions I feel when I’m playing sets every weekend across Europe and the world. But what comes closest is seeing my friends, being in a safe group of people that count for me. I find that reassuring and thrilling.”
Looking back, what would 2019 OMAKS think of where he is now? “He’d be proud—but mostly impatient to go even further. If I could tell him one thing: Work even harder, surround yourself with the right people, and never doubt your vision!”
With an ever-expanding tour schedule and a game-changing label on the rise, OMAKS is proving that energy isn’t just a sound—it’s a movement.
