Max Chapman launches a new record label, Hush Music, with an immersive tech house release that has deep pads, soulful tones, and hints of funk.
Both of the two-tracks on the release are by Max Chapman, who is not only a skilled producer, but also an accomplished DJ that has played headline shows across the globe. He is a regular at Ibiza venues like DC-10, and has played the main stages of festivals ranging from BPM Festival (Costa Rica) to Mysteryland (Holland).
When it comes to producing music, Max Chapman is a UK born artist who has built up an impressive catalogue including music on highly influential record labels such as Sola, Kaluki Musik, Saved Records, Toolroom, Snatch!, Relief, Hot Creations, and elrow Music.
Talking about Hush Music and his new release, Max Chapman said: "I'm super excited and very honoured to be asked to create the first release for Hush, and I was flattered when the label owner asked me. My EP is a typical package containing a rolling house track (the kids call it minimal) and a staple tech house track in my trademark style."
Opening the release is the title track, "Right About Now," which has chunky percussion sequenced into shuffling rhythms underpinned by a rolling bassline. Lush chords and soulful vocal phrases give the track a timeless sound, and the breakdown is signified with a spoken word sample talking about the value of music.
"You Know" is the second track on the release, and it lifts the energy with an upbeat groove driven by a funk-fuelled bassline. It's a techy track with warping synths creating a trippy atmosphere, while sassy vocals give the track a boisterous mood. It's a hedonistic track that's ideal for peak time moments on the dance floor.
