Brazilian techno heavyweight LUKAS is celebrating 25 years in the game – and he's doing it in serious style. One of the true pioneers of hard techno, Lukas (real name Lucas Freire) has just announced a string of major club and festival shows, plus a brand new EP called 'Blood Moon', dropping 21 April on Audiocode Records. Pre-order it here: https://www.beatport.com/release/blood-moon/4953737.
This isn’t just another release. It’s a statement.
A rare outing from the Barcelona-based producer and label head, 'Blood Moon' is one of only a few tracks he’ll release this year – and it’s a powerful nod to his roots, evolution, and enduring relevance.
The title track 'Blood Moon' hits with eerie melodies, industrial crunch and driving tension. Flip to 'Push It' and it’s pure high-octane, no-nonsense techno. Both tracks reflect the signature blend of energy, precision, and soul that’s made Lukas a mainstay in the scene since the late ‘90s.

Hard techno might be everywhere right now, but Lukas was doing it long before the genre blew up. His sets – a fierce mix of hard techno, classic techno, schranz, acid and even hardcore – are a masterclass in control and chaos. And when he’s behind the decks with Fernanda Martins, it’s next-level. The pair will hit venues across Spain and Belgium this spring, with a 4-deck setup built for maximum impact.
Upcoming tour dates include:
DURO, Barcelona – 19 April (with Fernanda Martins)
Skillz, Belgium – 26 April (with Fernanda Martins)
Blackworks, Granada – 3 May
Drknss Festival, Piedrabuena – 10 May
Hyperlink, Vigo – 17 May
Pulse Festival, Ciudad Real – 31 May
As if that wasn’t enough, Lukas also has a massive collab with rising star Vendex on the way. Titled 'Your Soul Is Mine', the track lands 2 June on Audiocode Specials Vol. 006 and blends Vendex’s cinematic darkness with Lukas’ polished intensity. He dropped it as his closing tune at Verknipt Brazil and it went off.
More fire follows on 16 June, with a remix of 'Resonate' – this time teaming up with Fernanda Martins again to rework German newcomer PRAKAS on his 'Ego Disco' EP.
Whether in the booth or the studio, Lukas is still pushing hard techno forward with every release, every set, every move. 25 years deep – still essential.
