Clif Jack's record label, MJA the Vision, presents an explosive two-track techno EP by, Ilona Maras.
Ilona Maras is riding high after a recent EP on Alan Fitzpatrick's We Are The Brave, which adds to an impressive catalogue that also includes music on other labels ranging from Frankyeffe's Riot Recordings to Reinier Zonneveld's Filth on Acid.
Based in Switzerland, Ilona Maras is well known within Zurich's underground club scene, as she is a resident DJ at the city's internationally renowned, Hive Club. Her style is an intoxicating blend of hammering drums and rousing synth lines that deliver a vigorous energy.
This is Ilona Maras' second solo release on MJA the Vision, she has also contributed to one of the record label's compilations, and continues to establish herself as one of the imprint's core artists.
"Boomerang" opens the release with a pulsating bassline and rattling hi-hats, while rushing rave sirens sweep across the mix, and a stabbing melody delivers frantic tension. "2 Left Shoes" has deep chord stabs and smouldering pads leading to a tense breakdown, which introduces the track's captivating vocal sample before the drums slam back in.
