Hot Picks: Yungness & Jaminn share a storytelling selection

Based in Marseille, DJ/producer pairing Yungness & Jaminn are two producers representing their home nation of France with releases across a wealth of international labels, including Repopulate Mars, Desolat, and Sola, as well as closer to home on Amine Edge & DANCE’s CUFF. Featuring on Hellbent Records’ first ever VA ‘Welcome To Hell’ alongside a host of rising talent back in April, the duo return to close the year as imprint boss Cloonee welcomes them back for their first EP on the label, ‘Backroom’.

Delivering a pair of tracks armed with hefty low-end frequencies, title track ‘Backroom’ combines slick, rolling drums with resonant vocals, while ‘Take It Off’ keeps things heavy

hitting with a snaking bassline designed for peak time hours.

To celebrate the release of their latest EP, we asked Yungness & Jaminn to become the next artists to feature in our Hot Picks series.

"This selection is about our stories, influences and the feelings we’ve had in the scene through the years. These tracks have accompanied us during all our gigs, and have been close to us either since day one or more recently” - Yungness & Jaminn.

Check out their playlist below:

Amine Edge & DANCE - Lost

There’s so much to say about these artists, what they mean to us and everything in between… but about this track, we’ll just say: THE BASSLINE!!!

Storm Queen - Look Right Through (MK Vocal Edit)

An instant classic for us, a timeless track and one that will never get old.

Cajmere, Dajae - Brighter Days (Underground Goodies Mix)

That energy, that groove. This track has followed us since day one, and we always try to have a Cajmere touch in our own tracks.

Infinity Ink - Infinity

The first time we heard this track we knew that this melody would stay in minds forever. It’s simple, but straight to the point.

Mene & Dmitri Saidi - Calientee

This track has recently been released on our bro’s Chicks Luv Us’ label Encasa Records. It’s got an insane groove, energy, a great vocal. A lot of damage has been done this summer with this track!

Burna Boy - Anybody (Max Dean Edit)

This is an absolute banger. We love the groove in it, and the fact that it’s a mix of house and Afrobeats.

Jax Jones, System Inc. & Stefflon Don - The Don

Love everything in this track. The vocal and the bass create a very powerful mood. We love this kind of collaboration…

Acid Mondays feat. Ali Love, The Show & Wolfgang Haffner - Everything (Dub)

This Dub version is very catchy, it brings a nice surprise in our sets.

Feid, GORDO (US) - Hombres y Mujeres

We love the vibe of GORDO, and this is a track we currently love to play. There’s always crazy energy in the crowd when this track comes in.

The Martinez Brothers, Tokischa – Kilo

It’s always a pleasure to discover new tracks from the bosses, The Martinez Brothers. They never disappointed and always insane to catch live. Bomb!

Yungness & Jaminn's 'Backroom' EP is out now on Cloonee's Hellbent imprint.
