After his breakthrough in 2018 on Richy Ahmed’s FourThirtyTwo label, Senzala has continued to captivate audiences with his innovative soundscapes and hypnotising rhythms. Over recent years, he has showcased his talent via releases on labels such as Cuttin’ Headz, Stereo Productions, and Knee Deep In Sound, growing as an artist to watch in the global house scene. Now, triumphantly returning to Damian Lazarus’ Rebellion, he serves up four evoking tracks for a transcendent sound journey across his latest EP, ‘Get Down’. “I’ve split the ten tracks into five old school beats that really brought back some beautiful partying memories over the years. Followed by five newly released tunes that are really doing it for me on and off the dancefloor!” - Senzala.
In honour of his latest release, we asked Senzala to join us with a wicked Hot Picks selection:
Reboot – Caminando
I remember first hearing the tune at Hewitt Street Car Park in 2009 for the Cadenza Showcase. It literally blew my mind. It’s such a tune; it’s rare you hear a DJ play it now, but the right time at the right party would create an extremely special moment.
Fritz & Paul Kalkbrenner - Sky and Sand
Both Fritz & Paul need no introduction – speechless track; every now and again, I’ll play this on vinyl to take me away from life and get lost in such beautiful production.
Andrea Appolloni - Hello Momo! (David Pher Remix)
It’s a bouncy tune; you can’t help but nod your head to this one! Straight head bopper! Groovy!!!
The Martinez Brothers - H 2 Da Izzo
This tune never gets old; I remember I first heard this when Steve & Chris had their residency at DC10. It is a timeless track guaranteed to cause damage on any dancefloor!
Laurent Garnier - The Man With The Red Face
No introduction needed. Spin this one and close your eyes for a masterpiece of production. One of my favourite producers!
Moderat - More Love (Rampa &ME Remix)
The whole Keinemusic crew have dominated the scene in the past five years for me; all their productions, individually and collectively, are insane. This remix is just class and definitely one that will touch a few hearts, maybe even a tear, on the dancefloor!
Dennis Cruz - El Sueño (feat Martina Camargo)
Stomper of a tune – Love the vibe; Latin vibes are guaranteed to get the crowd dancing.
Mochakk – Jealous
Peak time tune, piercing vocals, bouncy bassline and huge break! Love hearing Pedro drop this one!
Skepta - Can’t Play Myself (A Tribute To Amy)
Brilliant track from a crossover artist. Production is really good on this one, and it is a tribute to a legend.
Argy & Omnya - Aria
Argy’s been around forever and always is at the top of his game! Excellent producer, and this track really touches me when I listen to it. Amazing production with a chugging, rolling bassline.
