Hot Picks: Peruvian Artist Ammo Avenue Drops an Inspired Collection

Peruvian Ammo Avenue continues his rise through the underground music scene establishing himself as one of house music’s most exciting newcomers. This time around bringing his signature sound to Steve Lawler's VIVa Limited label.

Acid is the common denominator for this new three-tracker by Ammo Avenue. As a result of his love for low-end sounds and sharp acid moog synths, this EP delivers 3 absolute club weapons in the form of opener ‘Jaywalk’, ‘That’s OK’ and EP closer ‘Nose Rate’.

Ammo’s bumping basslines and solid house beats have seen him release his high energy tunes on respected labels such as Black Book, Repopulate Mars, Deeperfect, Toolroom, Rawthentic to name a few in his ever impressive release schedule.

Known for playing at some of South America’s major venues such as Lost Beach Montañita, Club Room Santiago, Park.Art Curitiba, Salon Amador Medellin and La Tribu Lima and touring countries including Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, Colombia and Costa Rica, he’s shared line ups with some of the biggest names in electronic music including De La Swing, Neverdogs, Carlo Lio, Archie Hamilton, ANOTR, Coyu and more. You’ll also catching him playing week in week out in his home country of Peru both headlining shows and supporting the biggest names coming through.

Support for Ammo’s music continues to grow on dance floors around the globe with major name DJ’s supporting his music including the likes of FISHER, Eats Everything, Latmun, Solardo, Stefano Noferini, Detlef, Claptone, Lee Foss, Archie Hamilton, wAFF, Chris Stussy, Gorgon City, Hector Couto, Roger Sanchez, Rafa Barrios & Martin Ikin and the list goes on.

To celebrate his latest release on Steve Lawler's renowned VIVa Limited imprint, we asked Ammo Avenue to join us with his own Hot Picks selection:

TIM TAYLOR - TWOGETHER

Just nasty. Always showcasing a different sound, this time Tim Taylor’s wicked sound design shows us a dark raw track, perfectly contrasted by melancholic vocals.

AMMO AVENUE - THAT’S OK

Already championed by Jamie Jones, Steve Lawler, Reelow and more, it’s always good to see what you envisioned inside your studio, working so well at the clubs. Swing on point for this groover driven by acid sounds.

JAMIE COINS - STILL FLEXIN’

True to my hip hop roots and early inspiration, it’s always good to see fresh and bouncy cuts. Jamie delivers a solid 6 min head-bumping tune.

DIZ (UK) - GO TIME

The vibe on this one is just fire. Been playing this one in most of my sets and the tension it builds up is just wild. Great work on making an instant classic sound!

CHINONEGRO - MY MOMENT

So great to see my brother from another mother delivering his mystic vibes on a wicked label like CR. That breakdown is simply crazy.

Ammo Avenue's Jaywalk EP is out now on VIVa Limited.
