For this edition of Hot Picks, we’re joined by LUSU - a new project from Wiwek and Mike Cervello. They’ve both spent years in the game, but together, they’re carving out something fresh. A new alias. A new sound. Big stages already ticked off - Parookaville, SudOeste, Mystic Garden - and 2025 is looking even bigger.
Their latest release, ‘Siren,’ is a pounding nod to the raw spirit of the 90s rave culture, and it is out now on Arcane. It’s their third release on the label this year, following a string of club-focussed collabs with the likes of Hi-LO and Eli Brown.
To celebrate, they’ve dropped off a playlist of tracks that are fuelling their sets right now - peak-time weapons, nostalgic cuts, and deep hypnotic rollers. Let’s get into it.
Drunken Kong - Give It To Me
We’ve always been intrigued by Drunken Kong’s productions. This new one on Arcane is no different. The hypnotizing riff does it for us. We feel it sets the ultimate vibe on the dancefloor.
Tao Andra - Rave In Progress
The half time bass in the drop works really well on the drop. It also gives us the opportunity to build from this point again in our sets. Great song.
Sunbeam - Outside World (Bart Skils Remix)
In our own productions, we love to use vocal chops, and this one does it really well. We love the iconic melody that gives us some nostalgic feelings for the old-school 90s rave era.
Mateo!, NoNameLeft - Jorawalo
During our sets, we like to go deeper somewhere in the middle, and this is a raw example of a deeper song we love to play. Such a vibe!
Hertz - Lucky 13 (Benkt x John H remix)
Can’t stop moving on this. Really nice groove paired with the right energy.
Drunken Kong - Take The Bass
The drive and energy in this one is what makes this one of our favourites to play out right now.
Wehbba - Ticprei
It's probably the song we’ve been playing for the longest right now in our sets, except our own songs, of course. We love Wehbba’s productions a lot, and this one always does the job.
Axel Karakasis - Higher Ground
As we are suckers for the tribal grooves, this one took our attention right away. It has this ongoing hypnotic sound that brings all dancers into a trance. Love it!
Emmanuel Top - Turkish Bazar (Chris Liebing Remake)
Great remake of a classic. Chris Liebing is such a legend for this. When we play longer sets, we love this play this one.
LUSU - Ready 4 The Bass
One of our all-time classics. It set the tone for our LUSU sound, and we love to play this one. It just works!
From tribal grooves to pounding techno, LUSU’s Hot Picks playlist is a snapshot of what’s shaping their sound in the booth.
Whether it’s the throwback vocals of Sunbeam’s Outside World or the relentless drive of their own Ready 4 The Bass, these are the tunes they’re rinsing right now.
Check out their new track ‘Siren’ on Arcane, and keep your eyes on this duo - the LUSU journey’s just getting started.
