Hot Picks: Going on a Eclectic Journey With Scotland's Big Miz

Big Miz

If you’re a house and techno fan, you likely already know the name Big Miz. Hailing from Glasgow’s vibrant underground scene, Big Miz has established himself as one of the game’s most exciting producers and DJs. From Boiler Room sets at iconic venues like Sub Club to European festival stages, his signature sound—rooted in acid-tinged rhythms, 808 beats, and disco flourishes—brings a playful yet powerful energy to the dancefloor. Known for his multi-instrumentalism and creative prowess, Miz’s productions and remixes have become staple selections for DJs across the globe.

On September 21st, the larger-than-life Glaswegian house and techno star will again bring his infectious energy to the decks at XOYO London, blending acidic 808 rhythms, disco inflexions, and pure house music hedonism. He’ll be joined by Jasper James, another critical figure in Glasgow’s house scene known for his off-kilter grooves and heads-down techno sound—a product of his rise through the legendary Sub Club. Medlar - Percy

Been obsessed with this one recently. It’s the perfect house sound to me. When those saxophones come in in the second half it doesn’t get better.

Luke Van Dijk - Get My Luv

This is another one that has that perfect shuffle you want in a house track. Could listen to this for days.

Bambounou - The Life of a Touring DJ

This one is a certified banger. Driving beat with the pulsing vocals and lovely arpeggio plucks makes for a nice tool for the club.

Make A Dance - Woof Doof

Hard to pick just one track from the M.A.D lads, but this one is great for the dance floor when you want to take it up a notch. Nice ‘n’ funky with those driving rolling drums underneath.

Vincent Floyd - Your Eyes

Slowing it down a bit with this lush track from Vincent Floyd. Beautiful analogue drums and a haunting vocal. Doesn’t get better.

Jamie XX - All You Children

Been loving this all summer. Such a good vocal sample paired with a nice bouncy backing track. Jamie XX can do no wrong.

DMX Krew - On The Beach

Finishing off with this Chris Rea cover from electro legends DMX Krew. Lovely stuff!

Big Miz joins Jasper James this Saturday as part of a run of shows with renowned promoters LWE at XOYO London. Don’t miss a night of exploratory selections and experiential dancefloor moments!
