Youth Control continues to sign up the most talented electronic producers from the scene across Finland, this time with the Helsinki-born Noana and a pair of hot new tunes that show off his mastery of synth-heavy dance sounds. 'Afterlife' and 'Polaris' are meticulously designed house tracks that brim with unforgettable melodies and make a lasting emotional impact. Offering two very different sounds, it’s no surprise they’ve received early support from a broad palette of tastemakers including Jamie Porteous, Future Class, Galoski, SonnyJi, Vicki Martin-Smith (Radio Metro), Aldor and Roisto.

Noana had his first release aged just 17 and since then has reached ever higher heights. The drummer grew up with a jazz musician father and is a genuine studio wizard who works as a sound designer, sound editor and composer for TV and film. He always brings a cinematic quality to his work and as one-third of Leu Leu Land, an act signed to Sony Music Sweden and supported by Steve Angello through to Above & Beyond, he has remixed the legendary Giorgio Moroder and Britney Spears.

He started 'Afterlife' by playing around on the guitar and recording some analog synth parts having spent some time with friends reconnecting with nature. That experience helped to lift him out of dark times. Noana says, "for me, the theme of ‘Afterlife’ symbolises an assurance of a reality in which we can see our loved ones forever."

The track itself will awaken the soul with its radiant synths stretching up to the heavens. The angelic vocal from WLHELMINA spreads more uplifting joy and the sweeping pads and big drums all work to lock the listener into a trance and doused in positivity.

'Polaris' is inspired by a poem that tells of a man that struggles to write something that is not about butterflies but ends up being only about butterflies. It features a melody made by chopping up and pitching around pieces of an old analogue recording of just three notes playing an arpeggio and is truly beautiful. The chords melt over dynamic drums with a pitched-up vocal tugging at the heartstrings.

This release again confirms Youth Control's position at the forefront of the Finnish and international underground. It is synonymous with unearthing new talent and nurturing it to new levels as a boutique label, publisher and party brand. With high profile support for its music coming from the likes of Armand Van Helden, Steve Aoki and Todd Edwards, and a superb run of new music from Per2, founders TJH87 as well as Rony Rex, Roisto, Disco Despair and Terminé, the label is in an unstoppable run of form right now.
