Legendary dance music publication DJ Mag has announced a major format shift. Starting this year, the magazine will transition to a premium quarterly edition, moving away from its previous monthly schedule. This change comes as part of an effort to modernise its design, content, and overall offering to cater to the evolving preferences of its global readership.

The new quarterly edition promises a richer reading experience, featuring in-depth artist interviews, exclusive behind-the-scenes insights, and a focus on long-form content that dives deeper into the stories behind the music. DJ Mag editor Carl Loben highlighted the importance of adapting to today’s digital age while retaining the magazine’s identity as a respected voice in the electronic music community.

This move follows trends in other parts of the print industry, where publications are refining their output to appeal to a niche but highly engaged audience. While the publication will retain its iconic brand identity, the quarterly editions aim to become collector’s items, cherished by dance music aficionados worldwide.

Since its launch in 1991, DJ Mag has been a cornerstone of the electronic music scene, serving as a platform for DJs, producers, and industry news. With this bold reinvention, DJ Mag hopes to set a new standard for music journalism in the 21st century.
