“Perfect Love” is more than just a debut - it’s a statement. Azzo’s production is a homage to the roots of house music, drawing inspiration from legends like Dennis Ferrer and Sandy Rivera. The track’s pulsating beats and intricate percussion are perfectly complemented by Ngaiire’s rich, emotive vocals, creating a piece that resonates deeply with true house aficionados. “House music has always been there for me. It’s an escape, it’s unifying, and it’s about community - it’s literally in the name,” Azzo shares, reflecting on the genre that has been his lifelong passion.

The collaboration between Azzo and Ngaiire didn’t happen overnight. It was the culmination of a journey that began with Azzo pulling references from some of his favourite artists, including Cajmere/Green Velvet and Harry Romero. But he knew Ngaiire’s soulful voice would elevate the track to new heights. “After laying down the production, I knew it needed a strong, emotive vocal. Enter Ngaiire, whom I met at a mate’s BBQ late last year,” Azzo recalls. After mustering up the courage to ask her to collaborate, she responded with an enthusiastic yes, leading to a creative process that Azzo describes as nothing short of magical.

For Azzo, house music is more than just beats and melodies—it’s a unifying force that brings people together, a theme evident in his music and performances. “My aim is to curate a set that resonates emotionally and brings people together through shared experiences,” he explains. This was particularly important to him during his performance at this year’s Sydney Mardi Gras Festival, where he closed the event with an emotional edit of Kylie Minogue’s “All the Lovers,” a moment of unity in the wake of tragedy.

Azzo’s fluidity as a DJ and performer has earned him a place among the greats, sharing stages with legends like Carl Cox and Louie Vega. These experiences have shaped his artistry and reinforced his commitment to staying grounded. “It’s beyond inspiring and really pushes me to continuously elevate my craft. At the end of the day, you’re there to bring happiness to others,” he reflects, highlighting the humility and dedication that drive his work.

As a prominent figure in Sydney’s nightlife and a Club Above at Ivy resident, Azzo has witnessed the evolution of the house music scene, particularly in terms of representation and inclusivity. While progress has been made, he acknowledges that much work still needs to be done. “It’s still a white, straight, male-dominated scene, which is ironic given house music’s roots,” he notes. However, he remains optimistic, crediting initiatives like One Hit Agency for creating platforms that amplify the voices of local queer artists.

Ngaiire’s contribution to “Perfect Love” adds depth and emotion that perfectly complements Azzo’s production. “House music is packed with emotion, and I couldn’t think of anyone more perfect to collaborate with,” Azzo says, expressing his admiration for Ngaiire’s piercing, soulful voice. The synergy between their artistic visions is palpable in the track, making “Perfect Love” a powerful anthem that speaks to both the heart and the dancefloor.

Reflecting on his recent European tour, Azzo recalls the overwhelming response from international audiences, particularly during his performance at Amsterdam Pride. “It was all really special, but a standout was playing on the iconic canals, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of people. The connection was incredible, and it felt like everyone was fully on board with the energy I was bringing,” he shares, highlighting a moment that will undoubtedly remain a career highlight.

As Azzo looks ahead to the future, he’s gearing up for an exciting Australian summer festival season and is already back in the studio working on his next release. With plans for a UK and EU summer tour in 2025, fans can expect even more from this rising star. “I’ll be seeing you very soon!” Azzo promises, leaving us eagerly anticipating the next chapter in his musical journey.

Dan Azzo’s “Perfect Love” is not just a debut—it’s a celebration of the timeless, unifying power of house music. With Ngaiire’s soulful vocals and Azzo’s masterful production, this track will undoubtedly become a staple in the playlists of house music lovers worldwide. As Azzo continues to break new ground and push the boundaries of the genre, one thing is clear: the future of house music is in good hands.
