Boom Merchant is back on T78’s highly respected record label Autektone Dark to deliver an intense techno EP including two of his original tracks.

It is a double A-side release with the throbbing intensity of filter swept pads in the opening cut, “Terremoto.” Following on, “Finally Here” gives a nod to the old-school, with retro chords as its defining feature.

Both tracks utilise modulating synths and raw drums to create a contemporary sound that puts a unique spin on peak time techno. There is a classic Dense & Pika vibe to Boom Merchant’s style, as he utilises memorable hooks that give his underground techno tracks mainstage appeal.

Autektone Dark is just one record label that Boom Merchant works with, as he has also done releases with Gain, Brand New Records, Dolma, and his own Tribal Pulse.

“Terremoto” has a hammering kick drum and buzzing pad that build tension as the lurching bass synth creates ominous intensity. “Finally Here” has hypnotic synth chords that rise and fall underneath a filter, while lo-fi percussion creates a solid framework for the thumping groove.
